Recommended Posts

I have pcos and was sleeved 12/5 i have only lost 15 pounds and compared to other people that is really low. My son tells me not to compare my self but hell i can't help it! I'm just wondering if I'm losing slow because of my pcos. Is there anybody like this.....

You've lost 15 pounds in 21 days? That's great. Be happy with this. Don't compare yourself to others. I think your loss sounds pretty normal. I'm at 4 weeks and lost right at 22.

I've been stalled for a while now. Don't worry. I've heard this is common.

I'm a slow loser too but I'm happy about it. No really pumped about losely large amounts so swiftly...plus steady works for me. Remember any weight loss is a huge accomplishment! Surgery weight 256 checked out 257.4 today 247 been at that weight for a few days...it's all good! In due time it will melt...:)

You need to join PCOS club on here just click the link under my picture and join. :)

BTW I am 3 weeks out and have lost 17 lbs. Normal weight loss for people not sleeved is 10 lbs a month so I figure as long as we are loosing it's a good thing! ;)

Hello! I feel your pain when I look at everyone else who had the same op date they are way ahead of me. I am at 5 weeks and 19 pounds down. My hubby says that I look smaller everyday. I try to take it one day at a time. I stopped weighing myself daily. Last week I lost 4.5 in a week the week before -2 and I also stalled for over a week. With Pcos we know it will take longer but actually low carb low sugar low cal is the perfect balance for us to loose weight! Good Luck!

I too stales our at week 4 some days it even looked like I gained! How is that possible eating 600-700 calories a day? Today dropped what it showed I gained ! But it's now a week with no lose. I'm not able to exercise so don't know if that's part of it or what! I'm getting discouraged!

I was on Metform twice a day but not since I was sleeved. I know it is crazy but our bodies with PCOS sometimes dont want to let the weight go. I guess we just have to keep on going!.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
