Hello. happy holidays to all the sleevers. Question for you all?. I work 13 hour shifts. I'm lucky if I get to sit down and eat a meal at the table. Any suggestions for Breakfast /lunch /dinner? Since I leave my house at 6am and get home around 9pm, I need to be prepared and bring all my food with me otherwise I might end up picking and snacking throughout the day. The family members of the patient are bringing in lots of goodies for the nurses and doctors. I'm worried I will not have the will power to stay away. I'm 6 weeks out.. Weight loss is on the slower side for me. 17 lbs down. Thanks..

If you have access to a refrigerator and a microwave - can you bring turkey and cheese roll up-no bread, maybe add some avocado, Soups, FF yogurt, leftover chicken with a yogurt based dipping sauce, hard boiled egg mashed with a little low fat mayo, soups, leftover casseroles that you made at home. Pre pack the night before work, portioning out the proper sizes for you. Check out the blog www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com she has great ideas. It will take some planning, but you can do it!!!

Breakfast: Yogurt smoothie. Get yourself a bullet blender and blend it in the cup and drink on the way to work .

lunch and dinner: Soup, such as split pea or veggie. lunch meat wrapped around string cheese and a few crackers, rotisserie chicken, tuna salad, hebrew national low fat hot dogs, littie smokies (turkey), low fat cheeses, meatballs, pulled pork. You can buy small amounts of prepared veggies and meats from the deli and then use them for lunch and dinner.

At 6 weeks out, if you eat Protein first you will not have enough room to eat much bad stuff.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
