I love chicken so I make chicken broth and use it to blend my vegetables and the chicken. The way I do it is I use a deep pan, pour hot Water with the chicken, a piece of garlic, cilantro and a piece of onion with some salt. Then I add some vegetables like carrots, potato, brocoli or celeri. Let boil until the chicken is cook and the vegetables are soft. I just love it.

That's sounds delish. I can't wait to eat a little food. I'm so tired of Soups and Protein Drinks. Having a rough day today.

When do you start? When I was on liquids, my treats were the Jello and the sugar free popsicles. I love the popsicles.

I think my big concern with eating in the liquid-pureed phase (right after surgery) is that the Protein options are limited. And, I have discovered that I really don't like the Protein Drinks or the whey powders. So, I keep eating greek yogurt, cottage cheese and Soup made with milk. I enjoy all these things normally, but not so much under the circumstances.

Boiled egg with light mayo puree to be like deviled egg. Hormel complete meals with no bread or Pasta purée nicely' date=' I also brought Ruth's chicken and tuna salads they are already in a puréed state in the tub from store. Refried Beans and chili are good. Also frozen meatballs unthawed and purée topped with Alfredo, Tomato sauce or whatever you like. I like the meatballs because it is easier than browning ponds of beef at a time if rest of the family is having something else. Most meals the family has could be purée but is it healthy? And how will it appear purée is the catch![/quote']

Love the egg idea I love the stuffing deviled eggs. Also meatball idea great too. Thanks!

I can start purees this Thursday. Surgery was 12/10, came home 12/13 and I've been on full liquids since. Woke up sick to my stomach today and was dry heaving for a few minutes. But I slept later today and took my prevacid late. Once I got that down and my shakes i felt better.

But I truly feel I'm ready to start some food.

I do eat Jello and Popsicles. Just made. Some orange jello today

;-)

Somewhere on this site someone mentioned making deviled eggs but instead of using the yokes putting hummus in there. Delish! Can't wait to try that.

I saw a recipe in a prevention book that included this frozen yogurt, cocoa powder, Protein powder, and a few other things I can't remember off hand. It looked sooooo good. Im going to try to find this next week.

Found a good one on pinterest. Can of chicken, avacado, cliantro, lime juice, salt and pepper. No mayo and it's really good when you purée!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
