Does it hurt anyone else to drink Water??

I'm 2 days post-op and everything I swallow hurts going down. It helps me to take really tiny sips and just be careful to not over-do it. Good luck!

Just take small sips often, which was one of the toughest things I had to get used to post-op. We're used to taking big gulps of Water (and you will be able to do that again in the upcoming weeks) but for now it's sip small and sip often.

I'm dec 19 and I feel full after the smallest sip. I can't decide if its gas pain or my sleeve is swollen and just can't take much over an ounce. My stomach is growling as well but not really hungry at all.

I was sleeved on 12/17 and everyday is getting better. There are still times when everything hurts going down, but I have realized that if it hurts going down then that means I have taken too big of a sip. I cannot say enough how much walking helps!! I was drinking chicken broth in the hospital but I have found for whatever reason, when I am hungry, vegetable broth is much better. I understand having a rough time, because this week was the worst. I have gone through moments where I think "what the hell did I do to myself" but then I remember my mantra from the very beginning, which is "I chose health over food" It is not easy because just laying in bed watching tv while resting, how many commercials do you see for food? And those thoughts about why I did this to myself creep in. However, in the long run, I just have to keep doing what I have always done when things get tough, keep focused on my goals and remember how good it will feel when I can go shopping for the clothes that make me feel beautiful and not the clothes that I shop so intracately for to cover up all of my rolls and fat and everything that makes me feel bad about my body. If you are on this journey, you are already a success....just remember that. It is not about vanity, it is about finding a future for ourselves that doesnt consist of multiple medications, diseases, and days spent in the hospital because of those conditions. My future will be better because I choose to get healthy, even if I can't see past the pain and soreness and mind-hunger at the moment. Happy Holidays everyone!!

I was also sleeved 12/17. I feel a little hungry but once I sip on Water it goes away. I also have the watery poop. Better than none at all since we haven't had anything solid. It's the hardest day so far. My family are making tamales. My favorite. But I'll get through it. Just have to be strong.

The broth wasn't going down good at all. My doctor said I could have any broth I want. So I buy the light progresso Soups and strain them really well. I can only drink half a cup and half a Jello so far.

Hey 12/17 pals! I have a stomach spasm with about every other sip so just taking bit slow. Also have the stomach rumbles but no real feeling of hunger. I can finally take a somewhat deep breath without incredible pain. Got down about 1/3 of a Protein Shake today and am sipping tea regularly. Found that adding some sprinkles of sugar free hot chocolate packet really helps the flavor of the shake. Now it tastes like frozen hot chocolate and the Protein taste is basically gone. Best thing so far is the optimism I feel about this process. I'm so looking forward to the future that it basically makes the pain right now not really matter. I'm just trying not to worry about the daily stuff and dream about the future!

I had high blood pressure in the hospital only when in pain. Maximize your pain relief and you will heal faster. If you get too painful it takes a lot more meds to bring it back under control. So switch from lortab to Tylenol but don't try to do without. It is not a toughness contest.

I was sleeved 12/17 and had to spend 2 nights for pain management and hydration. I'm still having a tough time at home with pain. I have to take the lortab still but I got all my Protein in today. So that was a small victory.

I had a hiatal hernia repair too and I think that hurts the most. The hiccups are killer.

The good news is that I feel better everyday

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
