sid_n_reagans_mommy 114 Posted December 21, 2012 I have my consultation today with a plastic surgeon. I am just over 6 months out from surgery but I don't plan to get my surgery until March. I am currently 12 lbs below goal & I plan on getting off another 20 by march. I've seen a lot of people saying surgeons sayin to wait until 1-2 years out for skin to "shrink", however, there is no way I'm waiting that long!! Anybody have experience with plastics this early out??
FishingNurse 1,211 Posted December 21, 2012 I didn't but I can say my skin looks drastically different now than it did 1 year ago and I weigh 10 pounds less than last year.
Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted December 21, 2012 I have experienced weight loss in the past and then went for plastic surgery before a year was out. I believe once your skin has stretched out and is lax/flabby it will not "improve" a year out so why wait. I am in the same boat now as you: I have 17 more pounds to lose and would like my surgery late spring. I am going to see a plastic surgeon next week. I think it is the best decision, we will be looking fantastic come summer!! I say go for it!! 1 sid_n_reagans_mommy reacted to this
Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted December 21, 2012 One other thing, I don't believe that surgeons say to wait for your skin to "shrink". For weight loss patients I think they say for your weight to stabilize.
