What does it feel like?

Does it feel the same as your old stomach? I mea. Can you tell anything is different inside there!? Lol

Had a sleeve dream last night and it felt weird in my dream, so it got me curious. Lol

I can tell now thats its there and smaller, but its been sore today, I stopped my opiate pain meds 3 days ago and am 10 days out now, using liquid tylenol and its not the same as. I was also worried to move about after and that has gotten better though as I feel less streeses in moving and lying down in the stomach it seems, just that its healed enough already to now move around easier.

I have the thought that once all else surrounding it shrinks I may better be able to tell its size as a feeling better, the cushion is shrinking now still but it also is in the way to much to tell although upper belly is shrunk some too.

So feeling is more confidant to move around and not so much that I can tell the size exact though 10 days out.

After awhile, once you get the eating routine down and able to eat any and all foods, your stomach feels normal again.

But, if I try to eat like I did in the old days, then yes, there is a difference. It is uncomfortable if I do not chew well enough or take huge bites. But, this goes back to my own issues with food and how I engulfed it. Everybody's story is going to be different.

My stomach feels exactly the same as it did before. It doesn't feel as though a part of it is missing.

The stomach like most other organs has no sensory receptors as far feeling their presence goes. You feel funny at first because of the surgical trauma. After that's healed the only indication of it not being there is that you can't eat as much and if you eat TOO much you can get nauseas and may vomit. You do not feel it being "smaller".

I agree, it doesn't "feel" different once you are completely healed, but it has it's limitations and when you get full, you get full fast and it gets uncomfortable fast. Your stomach is alot noisier too, it gurgles and you feel it more acutely when you eat. If it doesn't want something, it lets you know fast.

How do you "feel" your stomach now? You don't now and you won't after surgery. You don't feel your liver, kidneys, gallbladder, spleen unless there is something wrong with them.

No different, just amazing. I forget it's there most of the time. But today, for instance, was the day potluck holiday treats came into the office. I made a plate of favorites to enjoy - egg roll, meatball, bean dip/chips, brownie. I barely ate 4 ounces of it and felt comfortably full, stopped eating, threw away rest. Meanwhile my coworkers ate 1-2 plates and felt like crap after.

I love my sleeve!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
