I made bad food choices today! So many people bring me Christmas candy and cookies! So nice but I don't know what they are thinking. All my friends know I had surgery. I have to make better choices tomorrow! Sorry just venting!

I feel ya sista! As a nurse I have been surrounded by cakes and donuts and goodies that my patients and their families give to the units. I have been stuffing my face and paying the price. I have totally let my demons in my brain take over. I will not deprive myself these holiday nor will I over indulge. Tomorrow is a new day and jan 1 is a new year. Hang in there!

This is something I fear as a forever struggle. I am the wife of a deacon in a Baptist church his means I will forever be hosting food fellowships. I do not want to avoid that responsibility I just hope I can for the long term be strong and resist the constant flow of bad for you foods at church.

Every day of the week at my field office people have been bringing different themed foods. Monday was chocolate, Tuesday was savory, etc. I get away from there to go to my home office and we have a huge all day office party centered around....food. Then I return to my field office and today is their big food party. And people are giving me gifts of home baked treats. Now I get to go home for the holidays where there will be ......more food!!! But at least my dad has a lap band and understands something about moderation, even if he is a candy muncher.

I've been very good every day at Breakfast and at supper. I've allowed myself one small plate of tiny tastes of various things at each of these parties and I count that as both lunch and one snack. I'm

not gaining and I'm not losing. Temptations are so challenging!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
