I'm 2 1/2 weeks out and not sleeping great either. I was just like you. My family always said I was like a cat I liked to sleep so much. Maybe it's that "new" energy they say we're supposed to get? I don't know but I don't feel energetic--just tired.

what a coincidence...I was just telling a friend today that I don't sleep as early as I used to. In the evenings I sit by the fire, natural tranquilizer normally, but not anymore!

I'm over two years out and sleeping a lot worse than I used too. After I hit puberty I have had bad insomnia issues, since being sleeved they are worse.

I was tossing and turning till 12:30 last night, got up and stayed up till 3:45 then went back to bed only to wake up about 5am. I've tried a few sleep pills, Ambian and Lunesta but they only help you fall asleep, not keep you asleep or make you sleep. Sucks.

After gastric bypass I am not able to sleep through the night - even Ambien does not help other than to help me initially fall aslerp

Yes I have had the same issue! I was sleeved on 12/11. I spoke with my surgeon about it on my 1 week post op appt. He said I was the second one that week complaining of sleep issues. He told me to try melatonin. It helped a little but I'm still restless. I hope by the time I go back to work I'm sleeping better.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
