happygirl41 1 Posted December 20, 2012 Hi All! I was sleeved on 12-12-12 and have done fairly well in my recovery. Interesting moments with bowels but that is for a different discussion. Anyway, I am having a bear of a time sleeping on my back. Do I ever get to sleep on my side again? If so, when did it happen for you? I never processed this with all of my research. Thanks! delta_girl 931 Posted December 20, 2012 Use a pillow to prop for your stomach and one for your back. Having the support from a pillow really helps a lot and your internal stitches won't pull as much. 1 BabyHuey reacted to this

connie3 43 Posted December 20, 2012 I'm 3 weeks out and STILL can't sleep on my side or stomach!!
lucky8mb1 167 Posted December 20, 2012 I slowly started moving more and more on my side over the span of a week. By one week out, I was back to side/stomach sleeping (with a pillow for support).
happygirl41 1 Posted December 20, 2012 Wow! Thanks for the prompt response. I am definitely trying the pillow thing tonight.
Fallenangel2904 494 Posted December 20, 2012 The pillow really does help. I put a pillow in front and in back for extra support. I was able to get fully on my side about 5 nights after surgery. My stomach was almost 2 weeks but it still hurt a little, by 2 and a half weeks I was able to sleep any way I wanted. 1 happygirl41 reacted to this
O.T.R. sleever 3,386 Posted December 20, 2012 I'm a side sleeper. Or at least I was. Now it kinda hurts to sleep on my side because my rib cage digs into the mattress. Poor me having to deal with skinny problems. I wish I were fat again... NOT!!! 2 castiel and happygirl41 reacted to this
