So I'm feeling good. Back to normal. No problems eating, and I've lost 23 lbs. 7 pre and 16 post. BUT....I can't help but wishing I was losing faster. I'm know we aren't suposed to compare ourselves to others but it seems like all the other November sleevers are losing so much faster than me. And although I know its a marathon not a sprint and an average of 4 lbs a week is good I can't help but be frustrated.

What was your starting weight and height? Heavier people will almost always lose faster. As you get the numbers down, weight loss slows

I know, I expected fast loss too. I am 5 weeks out today and spent about two weeks at a gain and a stall. ;-(. We will get there.

Are you exercising? It's helped my weight loss a lot. (Ive lost 43lbs in 6 weeks including pre-op) I don't think losing slowly is a bad thing though. A loss is a loss! The person who I know who had this surgery 3 years ago and convinced me to do it lost 1lb every week for 2 years ... and lost more than half her body weight! No skin problems either!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
