I noticed today my palms and finger tips have become very wrinkled like my hands have been soaking in Water. What is that about? Is that from the weight loss? Or could it be dehydration?

Now that you mention it, I notice it too! I never made the connection of the weight loss and this but it has never happened before- I am three months out. How far are you?

I think we have old people hands syndrome. I don't know if it's dehydration or if it's because we are losing cushion under the skin. I just know my hands aged 10 years in the first few weeks.

I'm getting 64 oz usually but I have been feeling lately it's not enough. I'm gonna try to get more in and see what happens...

This happened to me a couple weeks ago. They seem to be better now, but I must have been dehydrated when it happened. I was drinking 120+ oz a day, so am not exactly sure how it happened. 5.5 months out.

Not only dehydration but electrolytes too. Plain Water doesn't always work so some sugar free Gatorade or sugar free Power aide to make sure you aren't just flushing.

Ah, all of the little details of losing weight.

Yes, I believe that is correct regarding electrolytes. I switched from drinking mio flavored water to propel flavored water (lots of electrolytes) and feel much better now. Fingers look like I am back to my age again instead of 85. Propel tastes better (to me) and tends to be much cheaper than mio.

That was also the time I started taking chia seeds daily (morning and evening) so my body was probably just getting used to the dehydrating effects of it. Thanks for the tip on electrolytes.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
