Best Protein Powder EVER!

Recommended Posts

I ordered Lean Desserts chocolate Coconut and WOW...it's amazing! Not only does it taste like a milkshake, it's thick and creamy like one. I blended it up with milk and ice in my blender and it's literately just like a yummy milkshake. I'm going to try it again after surgery and make sure it still works then I may buy more flavors! Yum!!

You mean that awful Protein taste is not there? I can hardly stomach any of these shakes anymore. Even the so called unflavored is awful.

Don't be surprised if you can't handle it creamy right after surgery when you move off Clear liquids. When there is literally no room in your stomach due to swelling, most people want shakes as thin as possible. Just don't blend it if it bothers you too much and just use the shaker bottle, then once you get further along, blending works fine. The blender aerates the shake adding alot of air (thats what makes it creamy and fluffy) and air in your stomach is extemely uncomfortable right after surgery - and it bloats your little sleeve. After a few weeks, and as the swelling goes down, it will get easier, I promise.

You are gonna be surprised as to what it takes to make you feel stuffed!

Good luck on your surgery tomorrow!

Any of the old timers: is this the kind of Protein we can have. Looked it up on line and I don't think it is the whey isolate. But then again maybe I just didn't find it.

That's a good question, I read others reviews it and bought it without looking at the type of Protein. I hope so because there is no bad taste at all, it's so good! I'd love to hear people's thoughts on that!

I am pre-surgery but I looked for a low carb, low sugar with high Protein and good taste. I actually found one, it is called Low Card SRO. I got the shakes have 0 carbs and sugars with 20 grams of protein. I got strawberry and it had a good tast. The price wasnt horrible for the amount that you recieve. Hope this helps.

Be careful with this, your taste buds change a lot and what tastes good pre surgery may not even be tolerable post. Good luck!

I don't find the few types I've had to smell at all. When I wasn't pregnant I drank isofemme vanilla and chocolate. But I bought the exact brand (super store) strawberry whey and it is really good!

It's cheap has 26g of Protein per serving 1 gram of sugar and really low carb. Tastes like an insane Breakfast to me. I mix it with unsweetened almond milk.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
