Maybe almond milk?

My tummy hates milk, fat free, skim, etc. but, it does tolerate almond milk very well and it actually tastes good!

Hope this helps.

I've read that some people become lactose intolerant after WLS. You might try Lactaid or another lactose-free milk to see if it helps. Me? Milk and yogurts feel good on my little tummy, but the shakes seem to be a bit irritating.

Not sure if it's 100% agreed on, but my surgeon's dietician said to not use nut/rice milks, because they just don't have the Protein - because we are supposed to be doing everything possible to obtain our max Protein intake. :)

Actually, soy and almond milk have approximately the same amount of Protein as regular milk. It's also a good source of Vitamin e and a. Almonds contain good fats, which help aide in maintaing lean muscle mass. one 8oz glass of almond milk actually provides almost 50% of your daily needed Calcium. It's a solid alternative in your Protein Shakes and smoothies.< /p>

Ok looks like I am having stomach issues from getting my gallbladder out. It should pass soon... even soy milk hurt my stomach.

Sorry to hear that. What type of Protein are you using? Try Water. It won't taste as rich and creamy... But it's better than nothing. Good luck!

I have been using EAS whey protein... its pretty good.... today my stomach seems better but my Dr said after gallbladder removal it takes a week or two before your body handles food well. I had Paneras creamy Tomato Soup today and it was a gift from heaven. . Lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
