Dr Garcia January 25th

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of booking January 25th with dr. F Garcia. Anyone else going at that time? I think I will be going alone so it would be great to meet others going at the same time.

I'm so scared to actually put my deposit down though. It's scary to go to another country for surgery.

I will probably be gone by then. :( I'm only staying the two days in the hospital and not going to the hotel afterwards.

I'm thinking of putting my deposit, but am still trying to figure out the day to schedule because of work. Will they allow you to leave upon discharge from the hospital?

Yes, but they said its only because I live in San Diego and could go back easily if I need to.

Congratulations Lulu on your decision. You won't be disappointed. I had my surgery on Sept 10th and have lost to date 62 pounds. You will meet others at the hotel don't worry about being there alone.

Where is all of your stuff when you are in surgery? Do you have to leave it in the hospital room? I was thinking about this the other night. My suitcase will have my phone, passport, money, all that junk in it.

Yes all your stuff is in your room. They will lock up your wallet but be careful we all seem to have $20.00 taken from it.

I'm glad my mom will be there and my sis. I can ask them to keep an eye on your stuff too. It's up to you.

Awww! Thank you so much! I may have someone coming with me, but that's not 100% yet. I sure hope so because I really don't want to go alone. Even though you will be there too!! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
