Who woulda thunk it?

Recommended Posts

I work from home and get paid by production. The more I type, the more money I make. A very simple concept. I'm down 42 pounds since Halloween! I feel so confident and happy even though technically I am still very obese. A switch went off in my head and I would rather be out and about continuously pulling up my now too big jeans. Who woulda thunk surgery would make me not want to work!!!

I would love to work from home! :)

Where do I sign up?

Don't overestimate its awesomeness - I work from home, and while it's great from the "yay, I don't have to wake up until 15 minutes before work" perspective, it's very bad for those of us who are mostly sedentary to begin with.

When I'm in the office colleagues walk to lunch with me, I have to take a lot of steps just to get to the bathroom, I'm always rushing to meetings. At home I sit at my workstation or on my couch and get up to drink and prepare meals. It's a constant effort to remind myself to get up and exercise.

Not saying there aren't awesome things about it, but they do come at a price.

When working at home, your missing out on some of the social aspects of being at the work site. We all need some sort of interactions with others, and when we don't have the interactions, it can lead to depression. Also helps going into the job site because you get more movement.....your also away from home and the cues we get to eat. LOL.......I prefer to go into the office and be around my colleagues. Yep......When at work, take advantage of the social aspect of it too......very powerful.. :)

I totally agree. I have applications in tobwork at offices on Galveston for when we move. Working from home has a few benefits, but mostly it just exacerbates my natural laziness! I pray I get the job in an office! I'm ready to get out of the house!!!

And after 35 years in the same company, I am looking forward to retirement and staying at home. I do fear missing folks, and I do fear missing challenges, but I am sick of always having to be somewhere, pressure from the boss, and all the stress that goes with being employed. And I also fear giving up my salary!

I had to give up my career when my son was born. I was a geriatric mother so this was a huge change for me :P I went from being "someone" to no one (more in my mind than anyone else's likely...I had just always known me as "VP of whatever").

Being at home is not all of the sunshine and roses it might seem. I do now work from home, but to be honest I don't work much on the actual work stuff. I very much miss the social interaction associated with working at an office. Both from clients and coworkers. I miss the responsibility and yes I probably miss being able to answer the "What do you do" question with an answer more fun than I plastered the kitchen today.

What was this topic about LOL Oh getting out. Yes honey, put on your big girl jeans, tie them with a rope and get out and talk to people. It's good for you and they can then tell you that your pants don't fit cuz you're turning into skin and bones :) THat's a good thing!!!

The more I type, the more money I make.

I still want to know what kind of work you do, and whether I can find out more. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would spend a few evening hours tapping away at the keyboard for a few extra bucks.

I am a medical transcriptionist with a huge company. It is kind of a hard field to get in to because everyone looking to hire requires experience and it is hard to get experience if no one will hire you! I was a nurse at first and took a course from home. Then I was hired on with a lady about 30 miles from my home who didn't require experience, but required us to train in her office for about three months. I really do enjoy the job, but I'm such a people person and since losing my weight, I am not such a hermit any more. If you have any questions, let me know and I will do my best to answer them. If I don't have the answer, I can at least lead you in the right direction!

I split my time between home and the office. It's the best of both worlds for me, though sometimes I wish I could just work from home for a month or two solid. I used to work from home full time and after awhile it took its toll. I guess the grass is always greener......

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
