Green's grumblings

Recommended Posts

This morning I went in to the TLBC for my third fill. I have been feeling no restriction at all, as you all know, and one night I even ate a banquet burger that my husband brought home. I had totally forgotten about this stunt until today. And I have never, ever PB-ed although I had a weird experience with Water after my first fill which resulted in me asking to have a cc taken out.

Since then I have been lagging behind the other women in my graduating class with respect to the amount of fill. They are all up to 7 to 7.5 cc and I am only now at 6 cc. Nevertheless, the fill tech won't give me more than 1 cc at a shot.

At my weigh-in today I learned that I had not lost a single pound since my last fill and that was 3 weeks ago. The good thing is that I haven't gained. So, I am in onederland and my hair isn't falling out, and that is good. I would have liked to have lost a couple of lousy lbs, however....

One of the members of my graduating class is not doing so well. She has lost no weight at all since being banded although she has had incidents of PB-ing and she is now losing her hair. It is because I heard her story that I am able to deal with my own lack of weight loss over the past 3 weeks.

I think that I am going to make another appointment for a fill. The fill tech gave me her card. I don't think that I am in the sweet spot zone. *sob*

Today I had my morning meds and a small tin of tuna with no problems. I hope the damn thing isn't leaking.... I am about to make myself a small dinner snack: an avocado with salsa and extra Tomato. Later on I will have my second small dinner snack. I don't know what this will be. Maybe tzatziki or maybe poached eggs with salsa and cheddar cheese? The poached egg thingy I do in the microwave.

green, do they remove the saline during your fill to see how many cc's are there? They should, this way you know if your leaking. I'm pretty sure your not, it will be just that magic cc you hit. Sooner or later (hopefully sooner)

I don't think she removes the saline. But I do think that I now have some restriction...finally! Just not quite enough, perhaps.

You should really ask if they do, or if they will... they've got to have some idea how much is REALLY in you band. Even I lost 0.1cc after my first fill (osmosis or something not to worry about), but if they had not found that our by removing all the saline to ensure how much was in there, I'd think I was at 1.5, when I would really be at 1.4 :omg:

LOL, not a big deal, but it could add up! Anyways, what if someone missed or something once, and you didn't get a whole fill amount in your band at all one time? You could have 5cc instead of 6!

p.s. you talking about avocado made me go out and buy one (I'd forgotten about 'em!)... I had a shrimp salad IN an avocado once, mmm... that would be good. I could eat the avocado by itself, but I'd like to eat something in it, a dip maybe?

I love guacamole. I mix it on my plate with refried bean and rice and salsa. Yum.

Oooh... me too. That's what I'd forgotten, that it was good for anything BESIDES quacamole!

Avocado is nice eaten with a vinaigrette. You can make one by mixing together Dijon mustard, wine vinaigar and extra virgin olive oil.

I think I might have some restriction.:) I ate at a Japanese restaurant yesterday. I ordered the small (and cheap lunch) plate. :bolt: Towards the end of the meal the food was feeling a little golfball-y. It was hard to stop eating, though. :cry The food was pretty good.:hungry:

One good thing about the band - I would have ordered much more food pre-banding - and I would have eaten it all!:clap2:

Mmmmm the shrimp thing sounds good Mandi!!

Careful green, you'r apt to go racing to the washroom sliming all the way.....(hey, we could make up a new line in jingle bells 'sliming all the way'). What I like to do green is order what I think I want, which is always waaaaayyyy tooooo much, then take home leftovers. Sometimes my leftovers lasts for days.

Today I went out for lunch again. I ordered a lunch combo plate at the local Chinese restaurant. I couldn't eat it all. In the old days I would have wolfed it all down.

Mandi I've had avocado on a veggie sandwich. Tomato cukes and avocado. It is so buttery tasting it makes up for no butter or may.

green...it's never supposed to be "fun" but it really is a great test because early detection of colon cancer results in a very very good long term prognosis. People don't have to die from colon cancer, it is one of the more "treatable" cancers out there as long as people use the tools for early detection. Actually in most cases people don't mind the procedure at all! Diladid is a wonderful drug and I just thank God it's not available on teh market as a recreational drug!! ahaha...Don't put off your scope anyone...It would really suck to wind up with a late stage colon cancer just because you're a little apprehensive or uncomfortable! We should never discourage others from getting this test!!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
