this is a great way to develop a full blown feeding disorder.

A full blown feeding disorder. Not sure what a "feeding disorder" is for adults but as I stated before chewing and spitting out is a symptom of bulimia, an eating disorder.

No one is patting her on the back and telling her that throwing up is okay. No where did ANYONE say that. The only person that has made reference to this "feeding (?) disorder" is you.

You are right, this is a public forum. And as such, the majority has stated that they don't agree with what you said. And that it is cruel on top of that.

Yes I know about her complications but that doesnt justify lashing out. And I've seen it repeatedly. Why do u think the OP reacted that way? She seems very capable of "assertive" feedback? Anyway it's lost on the deaf. A little sensitivity to someone who's struggling is definitely called for and as u can see it highjacks the conversation.

People on here think that if its not rose petals and perfume talk then you're being mean. You messed up' date=' we're gonna tell you. Eating lasagna a couple weeks after surgery! I mean come on. Tough love is needed sometimes.[/quote']

This thread is called confession. You should read the "I confess" thread and see what some people have confessed to. Sometimes people feel guilty and just want to confess. No one should be reprimanded for starting a thread call confession and then confessing to a mistake.

I'm not even going to read all of these. To cheat so early out is a bad thing. You need some counseling, you got the surgery because of a weight issue and your description sounds like a food addiction. I'm not scolding but to cave in so early in ridiculous. We're human, I get it. But I didn't cheat, and I've been in the hospital 20 days for a leak and am strict NPO. I haven't had ANYTHING to drink but barium for my test. No Water, no ice chips, nothing. If you think a few "cheater" bites is worth the risk of all the leak complications, go for it. You'll have one Hell of a time surviving when ICE chips or a sip of water are prohibited. I even had to get Dr's permission to brush my teeth.

Try to not let it get u down. There is some good advise here but just a few harsh people who would do a lot more good if they kept it in check.

Bahaha, comparing killing someone to someone taking a bite of lasagna! This thread is getting way out of hand and Fishy I think you are far too invested.

Oh ok. So if I kill someone and then confess it should be all good right?

That logic makes no sense.

I'm not even going to argue because you make no sense. We're on vertical sleeve talk. OBVIOUSLY the confession thread will be about the sleeve.

I hope you never make a mistake and post. Karma sucks.

A what can I say we are all human I had home made beef stew at 3 weeks out A week before I was to eat beef doc said drum roll it's ok :P. If you do eat things that your really not supposed to let your doctor know . Each day is a new day keep trying harder.

You are obviously more worried about getting your point across than being supportive. You made your point, we get it, no need to carry on. Your just being argumentative and that's when people stop listening to you. No ignorance on my part. Nice try though.

If you're bashing people that aren't all sunshine and rainbows, sod off. Some of us have seen the worst side of this procedure. If you can't handle the truth get off a public forum. Why should people sugar coat anything? All it's going to do is hurt you if you do end up having complications.

For me personally, there is a right way and a wrong way of speaking to other individuals. One is effective and one is not. If someone is rude, acts like they are better than me, or talks to me like an idiot, I don't respond. I don't know about you, but that's just me. "Sugar coating" has nothing to do with it. All you have to say is, if you do this, this may happen. When you say, "I can't believe you would do such a thing. How ridiculous! You should know better! You aren't ready for this surgery, get counseling because your insides are going to explode! that form of communication is ineffective and the person you are talking to is going to shut down. How does this help? It doesn't.

That's all I'm going to contribute to this thread from here on out.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
