Warm tea helped me tons, especially with getting in my fluids because cold Water hurt so badly. I can't think of the brand, but they make the Sleepy Time Tea. Yeah, I should have bought stock in that company before surgery. I loved the raspberry tea!!!

I have the same issue I had mine Tuesday and I'm still experiencing what I think is gas every time I eat or drink. Is this normal? I'm six days post op. thank you.

Yes it is normal, gas x strips and pearl probotics help.

Elektrik_Rose:How are you feeling? I am feeling awesome! Almost pain free...EXCEPT for when I sneeze! I feel like I am being stabbed in my lower abdomen by my belly button.... Other then that I feel great! I didn't think I would feel like this, this soon, I went to the mall tonight and walked around and everything and still feel great! I even slept on my stomach last night! I still find drinking warm Chamomile Team feels great in my new little tummy!

@Calebsmommy It feels great to walk without heavy breathing right? LOL! I did my follow up appointment with my PCP on Monday and went to Target after. I walked around for 3 hours just looking at stuff, mostly clothing I'll fit into later. I had no stomach pain, my feet didn't hurt and I never ran out of breathe. Yesterday I did my follow up with my surgeon. He's very upset about my Protein intake. I get very nauseous now when I try to get it down. It's like it's too thick. I had 2 Protein Drinks today despite how I felt, yogurt and some Soup. I also got the majority of mg Water down and of course my FAV, a sugar free Popsicle. The gas gets better every day. I think I'm almost done with it. How are you feeling?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
