On Nov 27,2012 and its been harder than I expected. My first week after surgery I had difficulty with Clear Liquids. Water didn't settle well and neither did crystal light. I drank my broth and Protein Shakes and had to drink children fruit juice. I found that diluted apple juices and Decaf mint tea work for me the best. So fast forward to week 2 my dr put me on soft foods which I was so excited. I yet found soft foods that agree with me. Which isn't too good because I'm afraid to try other stuff. I found that low fat cream of chicken and mash potatoes don't upset my new stomach. I tried ground chicken and it don't work. (Chicken used to be my favorite meat). And to get all my fluids I can drink diet snapple cranberry raspberry. Oh my Protein shakes started to get to me too so as a tip. Freeze them they are good as a frozen treat and if you add a sugar free flavor to it, it's like getting ice cream..

If you have any tips for me I welcome all information.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
