But I don't own one of the Bibles on your list, so I guess mine isn't "instructed by God", right? Christ, the ultimate authority, is not quoted in either Corinthians or Romans. My post said that Christ does not say a word about homosexuality in the Bible....and He doesn't. Nevertheless... It does not say Ho either but we know what that is. I am not going to riducule or patronize you for being a Christian, and I expect the same respect in return. THIS is why I usually keep my mouth shut about religion. People make comments that they think are fine, but they aren't. They are being patronizing and insulting. This is an extreme example, but if I was a Satanist, I wouldn't ask you why you were keeping two people that love each other apart (you and Satan) because you believed in God. Stopping vicious criminals from getting married makes alot more sense to me than stopping committed couples from it. We ought to be encouraging loving couples....... Wouldn't you be insulted if someone comes up to you and starts quizing you about why you aren't obeying the Sabbath or praying to Allah every 5 hours or wearing a head-scarf? Somehow, Christians think it is absolutely fine to do that to Atheists. I absolutely said nothing about your beliefs, I simply ask the question. Satan has NEVER shown me love. Just hard for me to see why bashing gays is worth energy with all the horrid things we need to fix, like people dying in war and a governement that protects the abuser of Senate pages. Next to weight-bashing, atheist-bashing seems to be one of the most accepted forms of discrimination. It just REALLY bothers me when people say offensive things. I have my reasons for finding it impossible to believe in God but this lack of belief hasn't damaged my sense of ethics. In fact the thoughtful person who believes that this life is it feels a strong desire to be kind to those who are having a rough go at it. A lack of belief in God is not a free pass to behave badly.
