gabby899 37 Posted December 16, 2012 I had my surgery on 9/28/12, i am 11 weeks post op and i am very worried! i had problems in the beginning with dehydration and hyplori and pancreatitus well. I was dilated during one of my hospital stays and now i am able to eat pretty much anything! I do not like this at all and am starting to feel like a major failure. I know i am the only one that can control what i eat, and i do get full very easily, but why do i have no restrictions? even sweets, no dumping, any suggestions and can dilation be reve

gabby899 37 Posted December 16, 2012 I was having trouble with pain everytime i drank anything, so he went in and dilated the opening of the sleeve
My relief 3 Posted December 16, 2012 Ok, so are you eating more now than usual? After dilation, do you still get full, since your stomach is smaller?
gabby899 37 Posted December 16, 2012 yes i do get full!
desertmom 297 Posted December 16, 2012 Then you have restriction. You need to plan your meals and weigh your food. This is how most people that loses a lot of weight does it. There is no ther way really as most of us will eat too much if we dont measure our food portions. Dilatation is usually just at the top where the food enters the stomach. Good luck. TheGamer 406 Posted December 16, 2012 Yeah, the dilation has to do with getting food in to the stomach. I had to have this done on Friday because it was difficult for me to eat *any* food at all, even soft foods like mashed potatoes. Remember, the sleeve is a tool, not a magic fix. We still have to pick and choose what we're going to eat in order to have success. Just being able to eat food isn't a sign of failure
isajck 229 Posted December 16, 2012 Not everyone dumps and most of us can eat a pretty good variety of foods so do not panic over this. If you are getting full on small amounts then you still have restriction. As others have said now is the time to watch what and how much you eat which is something that you control not the sleeve.
