ayyejaycee 15 Posted December 15, 2012 So my incission opened maybe day 8 and it was white the size of a quarter leaked a little bit. My surgeon said not to worry because it takes time and it was the biggest one. And to come back if the white part doesnt fall off or if the area surrounding gets really red. But I look at my incision and it doesn't look normal. I do not cover it. I wash it daily. Nothing has fallen off yet. It's yellowish and pus comes from it when pushed down. It doesn't hurt just itches. It looks Luke its healing but I'm concerned that its healing over all this crustiness and its really hard underneath. None of my other incisions did this. Any.ideas what I should do?

ayyejaycee 15 Posted December 15, 2012 Its only one that looks Like this. I clean like three times a day. I was using band aids to cover but the Dr said to not use them so much so it can heal faster.
Ballermom 803 Posted December 15, 2012 Go have your physician or Np look at it ASAP. Get their advise. 1 DreamsOfSkinny reacted to this
ozeedonkee 145 Posted December 15, 2012 It's very unfortunate that it's come apart. Wash them daily with a saline and visit your pharmacy to see if they have some type of wound healing cream. But don't let it dry out - it will make it itchy, hard and not heal as well. But if the pus gets worse (I assume you mentioned that to the surgeon), see a GP in case it gets infected. 1 ayyejaycee reacted to this
delta_girl 931 Posted December 15, 2012 None of mine ever looked like this, but I did have an issue about 3 weeks out. One of my incisions was about an inch above my belly button where may pants band was and when I would sit down my roll of fat would overlap my pants and press against the wound. It got very red and swollen looking. I took my shower, cleaned it and put antibacterial ointment on it can covered it with an extra large bandaid that I did not remove until it was the next evening time to take a shower. It looked so much better. After that I kept putting antibacterial ointment on it 2x a day. It healed faster than any of the others and now at 11 weeks looks better than the others. It is hardly even red. 1 ayyejaycee reacted to this
Geminidrive 389 Posted December 15, 2012 Yes, call your doctor. None of us are qualified to give you advice. Not being rude, but any time you have an issue like this or pain, the first thing you should be doing is calling your physician. 2 delta_girl and ayyejaycee reacted to this

Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted December 15, 2012 If pus is coming out, it must be infected, definitely go see the doctor, not just call him. 1 ayyejaycee reacted to this
ayyejaycee 15 Posted December 15, 2012 Thanx all. I just didn't know if it was normal or not. My first mind said to make an appt with my doctor. So that's what ill do.
ayyejaycee 15 Posted December 15, 2012 If pus is coming out' date=' it must be infected, definitely go see the doctor, not just call him.[/quote'] I told the surgeon that before and he said its normal for drainage but only be alarmed if it was oozing pus. chitowngirl 886 Posted December 15, 2012 I've seen infected wounds before, and yours does not seem alarming. It looks like its slowly healing. If you feel it gets worse go in and they'll prob put you on an antibiotic. Best of luck to you. 2 ayyejaycee and COnative reacted to this

enigmachik 403 Posted December 15, 2012 I'm not a doctor, so you shouldn't take my advice, but personally, I don't think it looks that bad. I had one that looked much worse than this and it all worked out in the end. Just keep it clean and follow your doctor's orders. 1 ayyejaycee reacted to this
