My eyes were much bigger. I ate too much and fast and made myself sick. I threw up some. I still feel terrible

Think of it as a learning experience. I had a couple of "drinking too fast" experiences early on. It certainly teaches you not to do that again. Walk if you can. That may help.

Here's what helps me:

Walking

Stand up tall, kinda stretching the tummy area out

Pound on chest and hope for a burp

I rarely get sick, but it does happen sometimes. Just last week I accidentally ate too much because I ate quickly then had some eggnog frozen yogurt. Oops! It's been months since I overdid it, but I was so sorry!

I've had a couple of those, not fun.

As previous stated, it's all part of learning your new way of life. It's happened to me twice in 6 months. I've had another couple of close calls & I still occasionally overeat, but not to the point of being sick, just to the point of feeling uncomfortable.

I'm pretty sure that a year or so post-op, I won't have these problems. But, right now, i'm still finding my way & am not fully familiar with all the diffrent food types. The way I look at it, I've got to forget about the past 43 years of eating & learn it all again.

i have always had a strange habit with food, even my mother has teased me about this in the past. When I have a plate of food in front of me, I mentally 'grade' the food. Then I eat in reverse order, saving the best until last.

I've done that since I was a very small child. But now, I have to force myself to do the reverse in case I get full & have no room left for the 'best' food. In fact, this habit may have even been contributory to my weight problem.

I've done this so many times. Man, it hurts. I am much more careful now. I think taking care to take the acid reducers daily might help too with stomach upset. I'm not too good about that. I am getting into the habit of serving myself not what I "might" be able to eat for quantity but what I know I can. I usually get closer to the mark that way; i.e. when I intentionally underestimate.

I did today too! I ate two meatballs and half a zucchini muffin. I feel hot and dizzy and I'm at work!

I'm at 11 weeks and still do this about 1 time out of 10 times I eat. I've only been on regular food for around 2.5 weeks and sometimes I can't eat every 3-4 hours, so if I'm really hungry I tend to overestimate what I can put in my stomach.

Yesterday I had about 3 oz of chicken and 4-5 raw sugar snap peas. After a few minutes I didn't think about it and started drinking some tea that was already on my desk at work. It didn't go down, just sat in my throat. That was realllly weird and very unpleasant.

Enough of these experiences and we will eventually learn! I hope.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
