I'm a week and 1/2 post op and just never really looked into this aspect of the surgery =\ Thanks in advance for all of the help! 2 Gabi and Tink22-sleeve reacted to this
Tiffany Winn 0 Posted December 15, 2012 I need to start taking mine. My surgery was on Tuesday, The nutritionist I talked to before the surgery recommended CHEW-ABLE multi Vitamins and chewable Calcium. You will have to really chew them. I bought them from sams club in big jars cause they come with so much more for the price.

missymellie33 1 Posted December 15, 2012 I am using Wellesse brand, they have it all. https://wellesse.alice.com/ I am pre-op, but the Wellesse brand has a Multivitamin, calcium/vitamin D, and B complex all available in liquid form. I am taking a multi, now but will start the others a.s.ap. Just thought I would add my two cents! LOL!
missymellie33 1 Posted December 15, 2012 This stuff is going perfect with the post op liquid diet, I am 3 days out. Congrats on being 3 days post-op! Did you take your Vitamins pre-op too? I was told I would have to get B12 shots, but I said "NOT IF I CAN HELP IT! LOL! I don't understand why I would need the shots if my multi has b Vitamin in it and I am taking a liquid b complex with b12 in it. Anyway, I can't believe the Vitamins are already working.. the taste is a little difficult, but I think it is worth it!

SeriouslyChange 319 Posted December 15, 2012 Kaiser won't give us B12 shots. As they are either weekly or monthly, in the long run you get less B12 than if you were to take it sublingual. The sleeve doesn't change your anatomy or how you absorb Vitamins. Only RNY does that as they bypass.
