PoohSoup0803 45 Posted December 15, 2012 So I'm 4 days post op.. Been home 3 days.. And I've been getting super sharp pains in my stomach & abdomen. They hurt so bad they take my breath away & nearly bring me to tears. Does anyone else have this problem? :'(
softwsolu1 8 Posted December 15, 2012 When you say sharp pains - are they out of nowhere? Do they come when you move around or just happen on their own? If they're happening on their own you should probably call your doc.
PoohSoup0803 45 Posted December 15, 2012 Sometimes I'm just sitting or laying down & I feel a sharp pain.. It takes my breath away.. I'm not sure if maybe I just got a pocket of air stuck there or what.. Just trying to see if this is ever happened to anyone else?
Butterthebean 8,146 Posted December 15, 2012 Super sharp pains are not an acceptable side effect. Call your docs office. There should be someone on call if he's not.
GiGi3 33 Posted December 15, 2012 Have you been walking? Got to get that gas out. Walking is going to do that.

softwsolu1 8 Posted December 15, 2012 Yes I walk nearly every hour for 5-10 minutes Honestly, I would call the doc. I felt really badly about doing this at first - my surgery was right before Thanksgiving and I woke up with real acid/pain problems on Thanksgiving morning at 5 am. My wife insisted that we call the doc, she did, and not only was he gracious and helpful, he called back repeatedly throughout the day to monitor my progress. Maybe I'm a baby about it but I'd just rather be safe than sorry.
GiGi3 33 Posted December 15, 2012 It is a serious operation. Call your doctor if you are not comfortable with what is going on in your stomach.
