Nectar Protein Help?

Recommended Posts

I have nectar Fuzzy Naval and have heard nothing about wonderful things about it but I tried it and it was gross! Any suggestions?

I put 4 oz of Water into a shaker bottle, put in half a scoop of the Protein Powder, shook it up a few times and took a sip.

To start with, the powder wasn't dissolved all the way and there were chunks, it was GROSS. Cloudy and not like fruit juice at all, I tasted the whey and I could only stomach one sip.

Are there any tricks? Maybe mixing it with milk or blending it in a blender with ice? Help! I want to like it so much but as of now I can't handle it.

Uuuhhmm...I can't stand it at all. I bought the sample packs and when I mixed it up, I didn't even finish it. Maybe my taste buds will change after the sleeve as I keep reading about, so I have one saved. I didn't like the caribbean cooler, either.

Until then...yuck.

I've tried tons of nectar flavors and I hated them ALL. I get that some people can tolerate them, but I found them disgusting. Any reason you're so attached to wanting to like Nectar?

I've heard such good things about it :( and I was really hoping for a more fruity flavor that would taste good with just Water. I suppose I can send it back I just want to like it so much!

I lived off of the chocolate truffle & strawberry nectar ones. I had to make sure that I had a really good shaker cup. Got one from wal mart that has the metal ball that you drop in so you can constantly mix it up without getting all the frothy stuff on the top. Good luck finding one that you enjoy :)

I really like the nectar shakes but only the ones like chocolate, vanilla and the oh so yummy oreo cookie. Mixing in the sugar free Toranni coffee mixers are great. Today I bought several flavors to try-salted caramel. hazelnut, peanutbuter ...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
