stomlin75 161 Posted December 15, 2012 I am 1 week post op and have some mild but noticable pain in the upper left side of my abdomen under the bottom part of my ribs. It is much, much worse when I lie down or sit down. It pretty much goes away when I stand up. I also noticed last night that when I tried to sleep on my right side, I felt enough pain (on the right that time) that I had to turn over to get it to stop. I don't have a fever and my heart beat is normal so I don't think it's a leak or anything. I did not notice this pain before at all so this is new. Does this sound normal? deedeemuffin 346 Posted December 15, 2012 My left side hurt A LOT for almost 2 weeks. It was so bad that I had to use the pain med that the dr prescribed. At my post-op appointment 10 days after surgery the doctors office said that it was normal. They said that I could expect some soreness up to 6 months after surgery. I was really surprised. Anything really severe I would check with your dr if you're very concerned.

ebonisekim 1,713 Posted February 24, 2013 Sometimes in some cases that's where the Doc pulled your stomach out its a thought but to ease your mind I'm a month out and have that mild pain there
