Okay so... as we all know from my last few posts I have fallen off the diet wagon since booking my surgery date last month, but I have still been keeping to my work out routine which consists of running 4 times a week (plus whatever I do with the kids I teach twice a week in gym- not a lot since they are lazy but I'm working on physical fitness with them).

I moved my surgery date up from March to Jan 21st... I am excited but I think right now more scared, and nervous!

If I have fallen off the diet wagon now, what makes me think I can keep to the much more strict routine and diet post op?

I'm just second guessing myself right now... did anyone else feel this way?

I can't stick to a diet lol I know the sleeve will work for me because its a tool. My stomach will be smaller, and the hunger hormones aren't going to be as bad. I believe that will help me. I'm going to follow the diet with the sleeve because I wouldn't want to jeopardize my health. Right now, I just eat whatever and don't care about the consequence, but once I get the sleeve there will be consequences if I eat the wrong things

It is so much easier to stick to it after surgery! You will be amazed how little you eat and are satisfied! the sleeve is an awesome tool.

Thanks guys, you are definitely right, thanks for reminding me! after hours and hours and hours of research this doubt has just come over me tonight and I've somehow forgotten all of the basics... I will feel satisfied with small amounts of food post op. I'm just hoping I will stick the right foods in my mouth...

For the first 3 weeks you will have to keep track of your liquids, Protein, and I do calories but not necessary because I've only been over 400 1 day.

I can send you the 14 day pre op diet that my dietician sent me if you like. I really enjoyed doing it as it consisted of foods I really like. Just put your email address if you would like me to send you it. You loose about a stone (14 pounds) in the first week. Xxxx

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
