amytug 996 Posted December 13, 2012 I'm guessing this is a GOOD sign that your sleeves swelling is going down. Enjoy! 1 kimbernada reacted to this
Procrastination Queen 0 Posted December 13, 2012 I guess I should be really freaked out then, because my sips are WAAAAY bigger and I'm only 6 days out.
meford 15 Posted December 13, 2012 I was sleeved 12/4. Saw my dr yesterday and he said all that will get easier over the first two weeks. I am the same way. Think it is what is supposed to be happening when you are healing.

PJ_Sleeve 45 Posted December 13, 2012 Your swelling is going down. Don't worry, once you start eating normal food, you will definitely feel the restriction of the sleeve!
Butterthebean 8,146 Posted December 14, 2012 People, come back from the ledge. Do not freak out. First of all, size of your sleeve does not matter. You are the one who has to control what you eat from here on out. The sleeve will be like a helping hand, but not a crutch. Do not depend on it to do all the work by letting your feelings of fullness tell you when to stop eating or drinking. Your capacity will increase, and it will keep increasing for a while. One day a few months down the line you will wake up and be able to eat double what you could at 2 months out. That does not mean you should eat double. Measure your portions and learn to eat that and then stop eating. The idea is to eat till you're no longer hungry, not full. If you're like me, and you're not terribly good at recognizing that point then measure you're food and you can't go wrong. If you're still on liquids then work to get in your Water but do not bloat yourself. 5 Dreamingofhealth, Gettingmylifeback11/2012, kimbernada and 2 others reacted to this
want2live 29 Posted December 14, 2012 I do not believe I am on " the edge" of anything. I am a very educated, extremely smart person who researched the heck out of this before going through surgery. I am following the guidelines given to me by my doctor to the absolute T. I am not bloating myself or using my sleeve as a " crutch" for anything. I am, in fact, still in liquids so there really is not muh to fowl up. It is pretty simple and straight forward. I simply asked a question about how something should feel or be at this point in my recovery. All the research in the world does not take the place of hearing from supporters (or people who are suppose to be supporters) that have been here and can just let me me know that something is normal or that I am on the right track. For everyone that replied with something helpful....thank you. 1 GiGi3 reacted to this

Do you think I would waste my time replying if I didn't want to help? My ledge comment was tongue in cheek and wasn't entirely directed at you since others chimed in worrying about the same thing. And there have been many posts in the past worried about the same thing. Of course, since you know everything and did so much research, you already knew that. 7 KK66, Gettingmylifeback11/2012, twoolley and 4 others reacted to this
softwsolu1 8 Posted December 15, 2012 It turns out I can GULP now, which I was terrified I'd never be able to do again. Not everyone can and beware swallowing air! But some people can tolerate larger quantities of Water.< /p> My sense is you'd know if it was hurting you - the pain in your chest when you overdo it on this diet is pretty noticeable. GiGi3 33 Posted December 15, 2012 ouch butterthebean. A little harsh, eh? I am 17 days out. Today I was drinking Water so much better. I feel good about that. I was nervous that last week that I was going to get dehydrated. I am finding the first couple of weeks many changes are going on. 2 softwsolu1 and Gettingmylifeback11/2012 reacted to this

The OP literally asked for advice and then got upset when I gave mine. She then played the "support" card which is silly, since she wasn't asking for support, but rather, information. I only try to help but I don't sugar coat. I would but I'm no good at it. 4 Dreamingofhealth, Wolfgirl1978, kbby and 1 other reacted to this

No game 14,437 Posted December 15, 2012 I think old butterbean has a point the sleeve isn't a miracle worker on its own. I am four weeks out and if I want to eat more than I should I could and I can chose crappy food to eat also. But I have to make the choice not not. Liquids go down way easy.. When you get to food Proteins will really fill you up fast. But put a plate of mashed potatoes in front of me no telling how much I could get in !! 4 Dreamingofhealth, KickRocks, Butterthebean and 1 other reacted to this
