I have a tiny tube in my stomach that's connected to a pain medicine ball.

Sure ... you have a tube sticking out of you, for crying out loud. If it is any REAL concern, call your Dr.

Yep, same here, oozed blood and blood serum for a few days. The place I went to did nothing to close it up which I really thought was poor practice. I used some steri strips I had left over from a cancerous growth I had removed to close it up. Once removed keep it covered and change the dressing as directed.

Yup, 3 days. He told me I can yank it out when it deflates. I was like, "No way! You can do it when I see you."

Crazy. He just grabbed a hold of it and yanked. Didn't hurt, but felt a little weird. You would think it would hurt, but it didn't.

Abdominal pain lasted just a few days. I had a lower pain about 3 inches to the right of my belly button. Little bit of swelling and light pain to the touch. That lasted about 10 days. Never was explained.

But I stayed pretty true to the pain meds. Never let the pain get ahead of me. No reason to. You don't win any awards for being in pain.

Hummm, I have never heard of a pain ball. Can you share what it is? Thanks

If it's the one I'm thinking of (OnQ), it's basically a small, clear ball/pump that goes directly to the site of the surgery/incision. Small amounts of pain medication are dispensed directly at the site. It allows for pain control without the necessity of giving the entire body pain medication (ala hydrocodone), which generally leaves you more tired and less likely to be active immediately following surgery.

Yep, that's exactly what it is. You're right pdxman there's no reason for me to refrain from using what is so needed. As this point, I can't sleep without the Percocet.

I had the OnQ pain ball and they removed it before I left the hospital, because mine had deflated. I just oozed a little from one of the tiny holes.
