Guillermo Alvarez

Anyone want to share their testimony? I'm pretty sure he's the only one I can afford but would love to hear from some of his patients.

Side note: he's terribly good looking!

Dr Alvarez is more expensive than most doctors in mexico.. he's also one of the very best. he has a youtube channel endobariatric.. hundreds of testimonies on youtube including other doctors who have traveled to mexico just to be sleeved by Alvarez.

I would maybe start a new post with the correct title. I am scheduled with Alvarez in 1/18/13. I feel very comfortable with my choice of doctors. I think it is really important for you to feel good about whoever you choose. Good luck to you.

Ahhhh almanza I'm not thrilled with the number of surgeries he does per day. Though, I haven't heard of that hindering him. I am more comfortable with the docs I have chosen even though they're less experienced. I'm booking though Mexicobariatric and they have several docs to choose from. I chose the team of Cabrera/Valenzuela though I felt I could have chosen any of them and I would not have been making a wrong choice.

I meant Dr Almanza. Read both good and bad things about him.

I have heard of him doing 6-8 surgeries a day. I've also heard he's done more than that, I don't know if the other numbers are true. I think that is a bit excessive and some have reported waiting all day for surgery because he had so many. I will say that one of my best friends went to Almanza. She will be a year out in Feb. she had no complications and looks great. She says the staff/doctor was great. She was about the third surgery for the day and hers went off without a hitch.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
