I had my surgery on Monday. I'm not gna lie, I woke up with a lot of pain! I stayed at the hospital for an extra day bc my pain was not in control. Today I am home I finally took a shower but I'm still very sore. The doctor gave me a measuring cup and told me to drink that much fluids every 15 mins. Is there anything else I should be doing? It's raining outside today, so can't really go outside so I've been moving around the house instead.

I also had my surgery on Monday. Went home yesterday. I spent the morning today resting and getting my fluids in (1oz every 15 minutes of Isopure clear). Late this morning into the afternoon we took care of a couple errands and picked up a few Christmas gifts. It felt nice to be out of the surgery funk and among the land of the living again. We were out for a bit and when I started to get tired, we came home. Now I'm resting again and keeping up with my fluids.

I think as long as you're moving around somewhat, you're fine. Right now our focus should be getting in our fluids as much as we can, and not staying sedentary all day long.

Yes, it did start off that way with every sip. I felt it really bad in my chest. Now it only happens maybe once or twice per hour. My doctor advised me to take the entire cup in my mouth at one time, close my mouth, and then swallow to help reduce the amount of air taken in. He did say that with all the activity during surgery it's not abnormal to feel this way at first. Since it's starting to occur less and less frequently, I'm hopeful it will eventually go away.

I was also on Monday, and have had the pressure, my surgeon said it is from the air that is still built up in the stomach and that keeping moving will lessen that.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
