Oh my goodness, you look fantastic and I saw the weight you started out at. Can I be just like you when I have surgery? 71 pounds in 3 months is INSANE! I'm so so so so jealous! Do you have some magical secret that you can share or are you just one lucky duck?

Thanks so much, everyone. The highest weight I've ever been was 336 - Right before delivering my youngest child who is now almost 2 years old. When I decided to get surgery I was 288. 262 on Surgery date.

Tips... Follow Dr's orders exactly, stay focused. I've cheated twice in three months and they were small cheats. I kicked myself in the butt for a minute and then got right back on plan.

Tons of Water - 80-100 ounces per day. Tons of Protein. No cream Soups, no mashed potatoes, no Jello - Protein, PROTEIN!

I really didn't exercise much (except chasing around a 1 year old and a 2 year old all day) but just joined a rigorous workout program last week (Crossfit) and I'm seeing great results already from that.

That's it, I guess. Just stay focused, keep your eye on the ball and Good luck to those who haven't been sleeved yet - This is going to change your life if you work it!!

I just typed a huge response and my 2-year old rolled onto the laptop in his sleep and deleted it. So this is going to be a summary. Right now I am supposed to get 70 grams Protein but no more than 600 calories. Types of protein....

Premier Nutrition Ready-Made Protein shakes (Costco) - 30 Grams Protein, 160 calories

eggs (1 would be a meal) 7 grams protein, 80 cals

Reduced-Fat Peanut Butter (2 tbsp's) 9 grams protein, 160 cals

Kirkland (Costco) Frozen Turkey Patties - 35 grams protein, 200 cals

Foster Farms Turkey Homestyle Meatballs (costco) - 20 grams protein, 160 cals

chicken Breast - Can't remember calorie count

Greek Yogurt

Steak

Ground Turkey

Shrimp

Other Fish - Swordfish, Tilapia, tuna (though watch the mercury content)

Stuff like that.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
