My surgery was December 4. I can't lay down to sleep and can only get a few hours sitting in a recliner before my feet go numb and then I can't sleep. This is causing extreme exhaustion. Anyone else go through this? Any advice? I keep thinking of the episode of Next Generation when they couldn't sleep and it was driving everyone crazy.

I went through this. I am not that far out myself - just 2 1/2 weeks. I have horrible sleep apnea & was told that I could not use my bipap machine until cleared also. It was absolutely horrible. Luckily I didn't have to go to work. I just took sleep when I could get it day or night. I found that it took about 6 pillows all propped up to get comfortable enough leaning back in bed to sleep. On day 10 I got cleared to use my bipap machine. It's only in the past 2 days that I have been able to sleep on my side again & I am down to 4 pillows. I was also not afraid to use my pain med at night. You will get through it. Right now you just have to find what works best for you. It will get better soon, though. Good luck to you!

Thanks DeeDee. They had me bring my CPAP to the hospital with me and use it first night. I want prepared for this part of recovery. I didn't realize I'd have so much discomfort

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
