Yesterday morning I had an endoscopy done. It wasn't as bad as I thought, the worst part is having to go without Water for an extended amount of time and my fear of becoming dehydrated. I was so excited to have an IV for the extra saline :). Well i didn't get much of the IV, right after the procedure, the IV came out of my arm :(. Then my blood pressure was low so they put a new one in my arm. After 1/2 a small bag, blood pressure went up and I was released to come home. I am so amazed at how excited I was to get an IV. Water intake has been a real struggle here and I drink 64oz a day and the next morning I'm headachey and feeling dehydrated. This is pretty much every AM.

The pictures of my stomach are so cool. Looks like a sausage to boot. I have one spot that's thick and has muscosa. I am amazed at the size of my stomach due to my sleeve! It's the best.....

Just wish I could get more water in so I don't get dehyrated. :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
