melsue 5 Posted December 14, 2012 Artsong, I've been wondering what your doctor says about your weightloss? Do they have good follow-up or a nutritionist you can speak to? Any support groups?

nerlyc 15 Posted December 14, 2012 I am SOOOOO happy that I went through with this. Pre Op I doubted my ability to be successful' date=' was scared to death I would have some serious complication or might die, was terrified of letting go of food, feared that I would have constant problems post-op since I travel so much for work and food would be difficult to manage the first month.... Leap of faith. I would do it again. I would have loved to have been able to do it decades ago. It has made a huge difference in my life. My quality of life has improved significantly and I am a outwardly happier and more confident person. I actually am beginning to feel good in my own skin.[/quote'] I have all the same fears you had. I'm so glad I read this post! I'm glad I'm not alone ????

Nicolanz 1,484 Posted December 14, 2012 I don't regret this surgery at all! I'm even glad I didn't do it sooner! My options would have been gastric bypass or the band....boo! Plus now they have figured out that the sleeve needs to be smaller than what they did 5 yrs ago. Also, with all my attempts at dieting over the years, I've learned to make good food choices. Timing was perfect! 1 suepeeps reacted to this
skinnyjenn 20 Posted December 14, 2012 1 week 1 day post op and have no regrets! I've already lost 24 pounds and I feel great! The worst part was the first 2 days... Gas pains and nausea. But after that it hasn't been bad at all. I just had my first post op appointment today and everything looks great. I was so scared and nervous too before I had y surgery... Had a couple of breakdowns and struggled with the pre op diet but now I am so happy I did it! Good luck and stay strong :-) 1 melsue reacted to this
jcoufs 7 Posted December 14, 2012 Nope! On my way to my 2 month post-op visit with my surgeon-I've lost over 50 lbs since 1st visit with him in August! Sooo happy! Is it easy? No-I have a lot of food issues to work through. I eat too fast and am learning not to and try really hard not to eat that one bite too many that i'm accustomedto doing, as well. One meal at a time is my motto! Feel 10 years younger - 50's are the new 30's after being sleeved! I eat too fast also! Yesterday, I made a real effort to take my time eating and it was actually very relaxing meal. Hubby, daughter and I had great conversation. The meal's focus was the conversation, not the food!
