Same here... a lot more energy in the mornings and I do get a little light headed; however, my NUT said it could be lack of sugar. So, I eat 1-2 tablespoons of applesauce and I am fine. I am running 500-700 cals a day. I also make a bunch of homemade, high Protein, high Fiber soups/ stews. This seems to help, too.

I'm 8 days out and the last two we hellacious!! I was running on empty big time. Today my diet allows cream Soups and shakes, so I feel a bit better. Is this normal?

I went back to work within 6 days of the surgery. I work a pretty high-stress desk job. The first week I pretty much worked my normal 10-12 hour days. But, I would crash as soon as I got back to the hotel. Yeah, I travel to a client site (out of state) for work. Yesterday, I left at 5pm (super early for me), but I was up at 5 am, and went back to the hotel and slept from 6:30 to 4:30. I had to skip a leads meeting that started at 6:15 pm becuase I just couldn't make it. It was a really high stress day. Employee is screwing up left and right and I had to read her the riot act and listen to excuse after excuse.

I am hoping for a better day to today. I am thinking of trying taking B12 twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon. I am open to any suggestions to beef up my energy late in the afternoon. But, then again, maybe my body just needs rest and I need to listen to it.

Mary

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
