AussieLady 521 Posted December 10, 2012 Today was my first day of eating normal food. I was so excited that I would finally get to chew. Chose something fairly soft to start with (vegetable frittata). After about 3 bites I felt terrible. I then started drooling which continued for about 20 minutes then vomitted. Tried a little bit of Pasta for dinner, with the same reaction. What am I doing wrong? Or is it just that I'm not ready for this? Maybe I need to stick with shakes and Soup for a bit longer. Any advice would be appreciated.....
slojo 150 Posted December 10, 2012 Pasta is hard for alot of people who are sleeve/banded. You may be one of them who can't eat it. It will get better. It's just trial and error to find out what and how much you can eat... Take it slow...Supplement with shakes...Drink plenty of water...
Holly5.3 423 Posted December 10, 2012 It sounds like you "slimed"! (I know-gross term!) it's never happened to me but I am 7-1/2 weeks post and still cannot tolerate Pasta, crackers. I had 1/4 of a flax flat bread yesterday (Amen!) and it was great. My tummy didn't try to reject it! Take it very slow. I still have a Premier brand (Costco) shake every morning because I can't eat Cereal and not even a whole egg-so my snack is a Greek yogurt to get a lot if Protein inthroughout the morning. If you start feeling full, stop eating. It's that one more little bite habit that I have to break (no choice but to, now!!) that makes a huge difference now! Good luck! suzthebrit 146 Posted December 10, 2012 Vegetables and carbs are on my 'don't have until four months out' list so that may be your issue. Try a soft scrambled egg, or some chicken salad, see if they go down any easier. Take it sloooooooooooow, like a bite every other minute or so and measure out a 1/4 cup before you start. No matter what do not eat more than that 1/4 cup at first, let your stomach figure out what you are trying to do to it! Good luck. Sliming is the worst and like a near death experience for me!
