Full Liquids----what to eat!?!

Recommended Posts

I am so bored of my broth, Popsicles, Jello, Protein shakes. I feel weak like I need more. What else can I have?? Dr said anything that fits through a straw, just don't use a straw :)

on my full liquid diet I can have cream of chicken Soup, cream of mushroom, Tomato Soup, and yougurt. plus i've been making Protein Shakes. My favorite one is vanilla with a banana. hope this helps.

Boil some chicken and veggies together, then strain them for a very delicious Soup.< /p>

Diet hot chocolate has only 25 calories.

Almond and vanilla soy milk are very good.

Boil fresh fruit to make a compote, strain and enjoy.

I know exactly how you feel. I put my favorite Soups in the blender and made sure they were well blended and ate them that way. I may not have been able to chew any thing but I was able to get all the flavor I wanted.

I am currently on full liquids and just starting to feel a bit bored and hungry. The broth really doesn't do it for me, too salty and no taste. So I

bought Campbells and Progressive chicken Soups and then strained them. The broth had much more flavor for me that way. I can eat creamed soups but have not tried any yet. My Jello sugar free pudding cup was a great treat! other than that its popsicles, Protein drinks, low calorie gator aide. Oh and after 5 days I finally tonight had a cup of coffee, i have been a coffee freak for 30 years so didn't want to give it up. However I know it dehydrates you, so I am taking a sip of coffee and then a sip of Water.....

I wanted to use the blender but my doctor specifically said no blender he felt it adds air pockets or whatever..so that was out for

me.

I was eating plain Fage but recently I discovered Chobani Champions. It's made for kids but its AWESOME. It's blended which is great because I not supposed to have fruit chunks.

I think my date was the same as yours... Dec 3? I can start full liquids tomorrow... We are aloud pudding and yogurt? They don't fit through a straw but that would be so nice:)

*sigh* I just had my surgery Dec 6 and I am absolutely miserable. I'm so tired of yogurt, pudding, Jello, & broth. There has got to be something more filling and appetizing out there that still qualifies as a "full liquid". Please Help! :-(

I went and bought an immersion blender just for my liquid diet phase.

I had my surgery on Dec. 4th. :D I have done the light progresso Soup strained to take out the chicken and noodles (which I fed my dog) then put carrots and cellery in mini blender. It made a broth but oh so tasty! :tongue2: Doc said I can have soft meats and very cooked veggies and such on day 15 which is on the 19th! Can't wait!!

However I do like the greek yogurt and I can have low fat cottage cheese now. So that's something different. Also my creamy Soups have done very well. I just don't do creamy potatoe and starchy stuff. And I watch to make sure the calories aren't over 500. My personal goal..I usually hit 250-450. Depending on the day.

Hang in there, you are going to be a totally different looking n no time and you will be so proud of yourself!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
