Dr. Phil House of Hatred

Recommended Posts

Anyone else catch the Dr. Phil Hose of Hatred episode on Monday?

Six individuals with different judgments and prejudices move into The Dr. Phil House together, with cameras capturing every move as they struggle to challenge their own beliefs and values. Gary is a white supremacist, and B. is an African-American who hates white people. Staci is thin and hates fat people, and John is over 600 pounds and hates skinny people. Christina fears and hates homosexuals, and Tessa is a lesbian who hates straight people. They all work together in various assignments from Dr. Phil. Will they break down the walls of hatred and intolerance and learn to accept one another?

Part 1 summary: After meeting each other, the group learn they will be rooming with the very person they dislike the most. Dr. Phil immediately gives them an assignment: to clean their roommate's belongings. While everyone dives into the task, John talks on the phone. Dr. Phil dubs Tessa "house leader" for the day, and John has to be her assistant. She immediately puts John to work, but when she orders him to take a shower, he refuses. Tessa withholds John's dinner, and John makes arrangements to leave.

These people really need help. But the truth is there are tons of people just like them that we meet everyday.

I'm not sure, but I think this may be a new low for the Dr. Phil show. It reminds me of that show - can't remember the name of it - where they had a bunch of washed up celebrities sharing a house and bickering, etc.

Jerry Springer, but with strangers. It's just so pointless!

I read on tmz.com last week that this house got shut down and they had to stop filming after numerous complaints from neighbors. Apparently they didn't appreciate the traffic and constant drama and turmoil that went on in their neighborhood as a result of this show. Can't say I blame them too much!

I can't see how this will help these people break down their barriers. It is just a ratings gimmick.

What the *#@% happened to Dr. Phil? I used to really like his show. But the last few episodes I've watched have just come across as fake. Even Dr. Phil himself comes across as insincere. It's so sad.

Wow, I haven't seen it, but it sounds off. He is really trying to compete with some of the bad reality tv it sounds like. And this coming from a reality tv junkie!

Dr. Pyhil is a guy who makes a great living saying all those things we'd all like to say to people...but don't....whether it's helpful to them or not.

So, is this an ongoing thing...Like once a week he'll show the people in the house.

I'm not a Dr. Phil fan, but I might watch an episode just to see what's going on.

When Jerry Springer's talk show first started, it was one of the most intelligent shows on TV. It was on a par, if not better than Phil Donahue, but after the fights on Geraldo Rivera caused huge increases in viewer ratings, Mr. Springer leaped at the money and jumped to the forefront of lowness.

"No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public." - Henry L. Mencken.

Speaking of Jerry Springer, I always thought he was a joke, not very bright or sensitive. Well, have you seen him on Dancing with the Stars, he is such a gentleman and had a great personality. He was voted off the other night and was so humble, he was actually teary eyed. I guess there's the show biz side and the real side...jmo.

Mr. Springer was born in London, England and was once the mayor of Cincinnati, Ohio.

This is true. He was the youngest mayor ever of Cincinnati.

And how did he lose his job as a fairly popular mayor of Cincinnati? :)

Get ready -

Mayor Jerry lost his job as mayor (was forced to resign) due to his affinity for utilizing the services of call girls. :omg:

But wait!

Nope, he didn't get booted for that.

He patronized call girls and paid by check. The checks bore his real name.

Nope, he didn't get booted for that EITHER.

He patronized call girls and paid by check and the check bounced.:heh:

The call girl sued him for 'non-payment of check' and he was forced to resign.

Now THAT is a great story, but it's absolutely, positively true.

He really is an intelligent, and fairly sensitive man in actuality, but his political career has been sidelined by that hilariously bad case of judgement.

Ah, well... we're all human, right? :nervous

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
