Hi all. I'm scheduled tomorrow at 1230 for surgery and was still waiting on one clearance from the endocrinologist. I got it today at 730am! I'm a ball of emotions. I haven't really dealt with the fact that I'm having surgery because I didn't know own it I was going to. Now I'm just a wreck.

Keep me in your prayers tomorrow! I'm freaking out lol.

Good luck to all the sleevers this week and all of December. <3

You will be a surgery rock star :) Is there anything specific that you are freaking out about?

Just the fact that I'm having surgery. I've never been put under before. I have a two year old and don't really think I came to terms with the fact that I am having surgery until today. It has been so up in the air. It's now all very real ;-)

I've never been put under either. I am scared of that. I tell myself "thousands of people do it everyday"... but I don't if that really helps me lol. How long is your expected stay at the hospital? Have you planned what you will bring?

They said one to two nights. Just bringing two sets of comfy clothes, robe, slippers phone and chapstick ;-). Making it simple. Have to be there at 1030 tomorrow.

I say the same thing people have surgery all the time and are fine.

I find that planning and focusing on the simple and tangible things can keep me from freaking out too much. So I like to make lists and such :). I read on here that gas-x strips are a must have. I haven't asked my dr about that yet.

Good luck to you well. Let me know how if goes. Anyone doing single incision? I'm supposed to as long as they don't find a hernia.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
