amwr6582 26 Posted December 9, 2012 I tried looking for topics on this issue but couldnt find any that matched my issue... Anywho... I started my period today but I am only on week 3 of my birth control pills! GRR!! I am almost 1 month out of surgery. Did this happen to any of you ladies? I figured my birth control pill would still be able to regulate my cycle... guess not. Yes, I have not missed any pills and I take it at 6:30AM on the dot everyday without fail. My body hates me I suppose! :'(

Butlersh 213 Posted December 9, 2012 I am only 10 days post op, but I have the mirena and typically never have a period. I've not stopped bleeding since day 2. When I questioned about it, they said women store estrogen in our fat and the rapid weightloss is probably what's causing the period.
Threetimesacharm 1,400 Posted December 9, 2012 I agree with previous poster. I too am on the pill and got my period earlier than I should and for a longer time.

Joy0125 95 Posted January 7, 2013 Thank you amwr6582 for posting this and everyone for their answers. I was just sleeved on 12/18 and got mine a week early and just different. I was about to post a question but decided to do a search first. This made me not worry so much! Does it get back to a more regular pattern after the first month? My cycles have been wonky ever since surgery. My last cycle lasted two weeks. I am sure it gets better as time goes on
