No, if you haven't had blood gushing or constant pain on your side and not able to keep food down then your probably ok... Lol!! No, but seriously burping is ok. But get control of your swallowing cause gulping usually causes the air and painful burping is the result. Hopefully you don't have to experience that again.

Actually I had a leak and didn't feel a thing when it happened. No blood, etc. If you develop one you won't know until you have actual symptoms, but burping is not likely to cause them ;) Do avoid vomiting (which gulping can cause) as it convulses the stomach which can cause leaks.

Sweetheart...you just had MAJOR surgery. You are losing weight rapidly (which causes huge releases of estrogen) and you are probably physically tired my dear. Give your poor self a break :) And quit hurting you silly :P

Really, go make a cup of hot chocolate and take five mins for yourself. You deserve it!!! But don't gulp LOL

I had my surgery 12/3 and though all is well and I didn't take the pain meds after the hospital I'm a hot mess mentally. I have anxiety all the time with depression and can't stop crying. I freak myself out like why did I do it and will I make it through. I have a ton of support but I just feel like a mess. I'm crying again as I write this :(

I had the same feeling 3 days out, crying and depressed and doubting my decision to do this to myself but Day 4 was MUCH better! Hang in there... Every day gets better :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
