March/April 2012 Sleevers

Recommended Posts

Checking in with those sleeved in March/April 2012. I have had a relatively smooth trip down this path, but am faced with a 2 month stall. Not stressed about it, as I can feel my body redistributing itself, but I would love to see the scale move a few ounces at least.

Start Weight: 298

Surgery Weight: 248

Current Weight: 188

Goal Weight: 148

My weight has come off slowly but it's coming off. I still want to lose about 35 more pounds. This past week I have not followed the plan and it shows on the scale. But I refuse to be discouraged like I have been before the sleeve. I am giving my self a pep talk to get it back together. I didn't know how easy it would be to slip back into old habits but I see now that if you try hard enough you can fail.

Surgery 3 April, 70lb down and 30lb to go. It is slow but sure - no movement in Dec but I think tht could be my fault, too much snacking. I'm going to get back down to business on New Years day. This thread makes me feel normal as when I read other threads where people say they have lost 100lb in 3 months etc I get that little nagging beast in my brain saying "well you haven't done as well as them". It happens less now because I have told that "beast" that this is my journey and my body WILL lose the weight but it will take all the time it needs. I did think before surgery that my journey would take 1 year but it looks more like 15 months now but I'm OK with that.

Sleeved April 10th. My weightless has been slow and I have experienced many stall. I'm just now getting back the motivation to workout and track again. Maybe the new year will bring about something new.

Still here, 90lb down now, just 10 to go. Slow but sure.

I'm using the 5:2 method as my weightloss had come to a complete standstill. You eat 'normally' on 5 days of the week and for the other 2 you stick to 500 calories. It's working.

Congrats to you and hope you get to your goal soon.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
