minimii 43 Posted December 7, 2012 OMG, NOW WHAT.....After jumping through all the required hoops, and waiting forever for the final approval from my ins it appears I wont be scheduled till Jan.7th at the earliest. That's too late, my ins company changes on the 1st, so many other things changes with my job that..... I can't go through this process another 6 months, oh well I guess its game over for me
MINI-Me 196 Posted December 7, 2012 Have you talked to your surgeon and scheduler about the insurance changes? You might be surprised what they can accomplish when it means payment in December or lost patient & no payment in January. 8 ATX Girl, 7carol3, minimii and 5 others reacted to this
Jessica9190 127 Posted December 7, 2012 What about another surgeon? Once your approved you can use any covered surgeon. 2 TwinsMama and minimii reacted to this
Chimera 644 Posted December 7, 2012 I'm so sorry With my insurance and my work schedule it took 13 months when all was said and done. Don't give up! it takes time but it will be worth it and the long wait will be but a memory. 2 minimii and TwinsMama reacted to this
stacygrdnr 92 Posted December 7, 2012 Yes. Tell your surgeon your that 12/31 your insurance runs out. Not it switches over... they will try to squeeze you in... 4 MzFree-Spirited Vsg, minimii, 920amy and 1 other reacted to this
LezzieLez 180 Posted December 7, 2012 I am sorry!! My insurance changed as of January of this year and it totally excluded weight loss surgery. I am a self pay now 1 minimii reacted to this
TheRealMeIsHere! 863 Posted December 7, 2012 I'm so sorry, what a disappointment!! Maybe the new insurance can use what you've already done?? Don't give up, if you have to begin the process over, just look at it that either way 6 months will pass. You can choose the time to make a positive move or not. Good luck 1 minimii reacted to this

Pookeyism 1,143 Posted December 7, 2012 Get a list of the docs you are covered under, and call, first make sure of the basics...that the other people they use are covered as well, and then whoever can get you in before the new year, go for it...assuming they are reputable, of course. Even if you are not apprived, if you want it bad enough, start saving now, just in case. I had a friend start saving at the same time she started her approval process, and it dragged on for so long that she decided to pay for it herself. Good luck sweetie! 2 minimii and ProudGrammy reacted to this
TheCurvyJones 721 Posted December 7, 2012 It would seem like you're already approved, so they would have to honor that, correct? Check, double check, triple check. Too much work to go through to make you do it all over again. 2 minimii and TwinsMama reacted to this
LezzieLez 180 Posted December 7, 2012 It would seem like you're already approved, so they would have to honor that, correct? Check, double check, triple check. Too much work to go through to make you do it all over again. If the changes are through the same insurance company, they should honor it.. Hopefully, that is the case. In my case, my company switched carriers.. Either way like someone else said - it is not over. You have time to fight this! 1 minimii reacted to this
minimii 43 Posted December 7, 2012 thanks guy, needed that! now that i am back to myself, time to fight! monday i will be able to plea my case before the advocate, hopefully they can squeeze me in before the doc goes on his christmas vacation. if not, wipe the dust off my feet and move quickly on to the next reputable doc that can see me before the 31st. Unfortunatly it's a totally different ins company, so no hope of it being honored. Good thing i'm in Houston, so i have lots of choices - just gotta find the right one quickly. BTW - i went to my car and had a small pitty party , but i'm ready to move forward i got till 12-31 to make it happen kaptain  4 ProudGrammy, does not matter, FeeIsMe2 and 1 other reacted to this
