Dee-Texas 5 Posted December 7, 2012 Has anyone used carecredit to pay for surgery and how did you like it? Is there better financing for this type of surgery? Of course my insurance excludes any WLS or problems from WLS. I looked at carecredit last night and if you don't pay them off completely in 24 months the interest rate is really steep. They also only give you 23 days before they demand credit again..meaning one day late and the interest rate climbs to 26%!!! I'm despertaly trying to find a way to pay for this revision since my band has failed. Thanks for answering.
aroundhky 1,174 Posted December 7, 2012 I did. My insurance paid 80% and I used Care Credit to pay the rest. Correct, if you make all of your payments on time and pay it off on time, it's a pretty good option. I read the fine print on the application and it's interest free as long as you make the minimum payment and by the due date. If you miss one, I think it said that the interest rate would go up to like 20+% or something. I guess it has gone up even higher since I applied. I think they give you a repayment period based on the amount you use. Mine was 18 months, but I made all payments early and paid it off within 5 months (with help from tax refund). Now I'm using for my daughter's braces. Just make sure you can stick with their terms and it's a good way to pay. If you have any doubt about being able to keep the terms of the agreement, you may want to look for other options. Good luck with the new surgery and financing options!
