I did scrambled, Protein Shakes, soft carrots chewed to the point it was gone before I swallowed. Lol !! I hate creamed everything, but creamed Soups, mashed Potatos, my fav is ground chicken (put an egg and Italian seasoning in it) then scoop into a muffin pan. Cook then take out and add little sauce and shredded mozzarella and put it back in to melt. It's like a little chicken parm! Very good ! Of course that's for when you go to meet. Not sure when they will let you. Everyone gets different diets

I love love spinach, but it didn't sit well with me at first. I was told with every new food take a bite and wait a bit to see how you feel. Like 5 min or so. God luck!!

Make sure your body is ready. There is a difference between what the timeline says and what you can have.

I considered egg of any sort OK in my puree stage, mostly because if you chew it as much as you should it is liquid. pate (duck, chicken, liver) are all OK. butternut squash Soup is great. canned pumpkin (NOT PIE FILLER) is great - add unjury unflavored protien and it is a great source for Fiber and protien. she crab Soup and lobster (not bisque, too many carbs) pureed was so nice. there are canned meats and just this morning a gentleman posted about Hormel pureed meals, which I did not even know existed.

I had a variety of Soups and ground meats and veggies, the trick is to use the unflavored proien to get as much protien in as you can.

Do not forget your seasonings and spices. liquid smoke is so wonderful to give the purees flavor, but use sparingly...it takes the smallest drop to pack a whollop of flavor.

I hard boiled eggs put in low fat mayo and sugar free sweet Pickle Juice and blend it up and eat 2 ounces. Pretty good.

Besides scrambled I had poached, soft boiled, hard boiled, over easy, sunny side up, deviled, essentially any way I could cook an egg I could have it. In addition, I could have mild steamed or poached fish; canned or packet tuna, salmon and chicken plain or as salad with lowfat mayo; vegetarian soy products; cooked Cereal thinned with skim milk; nonfat refried beans; nonfat yogurt without added sugar; low salt V-8 juice; unsweetened apple sauce; mashed ripe banana; skim or lowfat cottage or ricotta cheese; mashed squash, white potato, sweet potato. These were all considered a good consistency so none of it had to be pureed.< /p>

My NUT told me that if I could get into a blender and puree it I could eat it. I asked about a hamburger, she said sure, but it kinda takes the fun out of it when its pureed, ,LOL. But really anything you can put in a blender. I bought a magic bullet and it was and still is (2 1/2 months out) a lifesaver. Just be careful of the carb intake such as mashed potatoes or apple sauce..lots of carbs. Good Luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
