1000 Calories

Recommended Posts

I just joined my fitness pal this week and it looks like I fm averaging 900 to 1000 calories a day at three months out. Is this normal? I noticed other sleevers set a goal of 700 to 800 a day... What is your calorie goal?

personally I think that that is perfect. I actually ate 1200-1400 a day after 3 months for weight loss. I maintain at about 1800-2000

LOL I just asked a similar question in MFP. I'm at 900 calories, the NUT suggests 1000+. I moved up to 1000 for a few days but it freaked me out! LOL. I am losing nicely and don't find myself too hungry (i have random days where I feel ravenous) so in sticking at 900 for now. I also exercise 4-5 times a week and burn between 400-500 calories with each of those workouts. There's no way I'd be able to do them eating 500-700 calories a day. I always "bank" my calories from exercise even though MFP tries to give them to you to use.

I see my NUT and NP in a week so I'll ask then.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
