This initial journey seems to be so difficult. I was really hoping to get the surgery done prior to Christmas or New Years, but I don’t think it’s going to work out that way. It seems that for the past month, I’ve done nothing but go to various appointments with various doctors and get one referral after another (if they will even give me one without kicking me off the phone). I know all of you have gone through this or are going through this and I just need to say that it is not easy. Anyone that thinks this is easy is nuts! Unfortunately had an abnormal EKG so I had my stress test yesterday and have to wait a week. I found out I have mild sleep apnea in my REM stage and they still want me to use a CPAP…I have to use it for a week and then they check the results and will send clearance after that. You would figure that these doctors and offices would make their hours a little easier for people to get to, rather than 8-4 every day. Having to take off of work for all these appointments makes me feel like i’m ditching my job. I’ve told a few people at work why I’m never here and they didn’t say much, which is fine. However….the lady doing my Stress Test yesterday kept saying how “you’re fine, see? You can exercise”…”Just come in here every day and I’ll whip your butt into exercising, you don’t need surgery”….and as much as I’m trying to ignore these kinds of things, there’s always that voice in the back of my head that makes me wonder….is she right? There’s tons of people that are able to lose weight drastically with diet and exercise….can I do it if I just try again? I just figure that I’ve done that too many times and each time have gained back anything lost plus some. It’s so hard sometimes to handle people’s negative views towards weight loss. I just can’t wait until I get some positive news hopefully.

Some one said this journey to getting sleeveed with all the appointments is like a full time Job!

I am not sleeved yet . It is challenging.

Next week I have three appointments, pre op class, Nut visit, then Meet my Surgeon a good thing.

Thinking of the positive reason why I want this surgery. Things I hope to accomplish. Staying positive.

This is going to get better.

Time passes so quickly. Hoping to be sleeved soon. This is for better health.

Keep your head up.

We are hear too support you.

Good luck.

gotta love people that say that kind of stuff!!!! :(many people think - "oh its just so easy to take the weight off, keep it off etc. - exercise - the lady at that stress place was very unprofessional saying that to you! she is not stupid - she said something that was stupid, there is a difference, but in her case............. ;)

some people might think - whats your problem, no self-control, can't help but regain??? i think most/all the people that have WLS have been on the roller coaster, up then down, sick of the ride - being physically sick - unhealthy, diabetes et al-can't keep the weight off - getting "desperate, health reason"

that's my story - for probably everyone else - just don't want to speak for others - even though what i said is PROBABLY true for all  ;) (I think!!!)

it is a bummer that you've had to take time off from work for these appointments, but it will be worth it in the long run.

look out below!! - positive re-inforcements on the way :)

as far as the CPAP - hopefully the sleep apnea is one of many co-morbities that you will get rid of - no more sleep apnea, diabetes/insulin meds - and NO more CPAP - hopefully all were eliminated pretty quickly after WLS per surgeon :)

with the "help" of the sleeve - and the hard work and rules you must and will follow (for the rest of your life) you can and will lose the weight, getting healthier - and the benefit of looking better too - i'll take it!!!

follow the requirements concerning your daily routine about amount of Water you must drink - watching carbs, Protein, calories - small portions - these things might seem alittle difficult at the beginning - but its worth doing for your mental and physical health and happiness -these are the "positive" benefits

i hope you get your ins. approved and a DOS sooner than later!!

stay strong and positive - good will start to happen, it might be slow but...........

take care

good luck
