I felt that way when I first returned to work. It surprised me because I had felt fine at home, but being at work was a big change, even though I have a desk job. I made a point to get extra rest, stay hydrated and get the protien in. After a few days I returned to normal energy levels.

Protein and fluids are tremendously important. Because our stomachs are so small it is easy to become dehydraded. That puts your body into shut down mode. I know its tough but keep working at it. Good Luck

I am about 7 weeks out and I had the exact same thing. Mine was dehydration and my body trying to cope with the drastic calorie drop. I had tons of bloodwork ran to make sure I didnt have any serious problem or internal bleeding and after all of that... they said I was fine but needed to drink more.

I thought I was dying because I didn't have the will power to even lift my arm. After week 5, my energy went through the roof! It was like I was a different person and I had more energy than before surgery.

The doctor said that most common symptom of internal bleeding is (too much information warning) black/dark and runny stool because that's how the blood leaves your system. I didn't have that problem at all so it was ruled out.

I hope you start to feel better. The first 4 weeks I cried thinking I had screwed my body up and made a bad choice. Now I wouldn't change it for the world. Good luck! And if you are concerned you should see your doctor just to make sure you are ok.

I feel the same way. No energy and tired all the time. I know I'm not getting the fluids and Protein I need but it's good to hear that it helped people when they did. Also I just knew I was doing the right thing having surgery 18 mo wait list and 6 mo of classes and ive been thinking lately I made a mistake cause I don't want to feel like this anymore. But hearing from u guys that u felt the same way gives me hope.

I was the same, feeling weak and drained even 4-5 weeks post op. I was dehydrated (i still got my Protein in but not enough fluids). I pushed myself to drink more and my energy returned. Week 6 and 7 were better and each week gets progressively better.

I thought the same thing as you, thought "what have i done" because i was always high energy person. I have no regrets now (im 10 weeks post op).

I feel like this all the time, nine weeks out and still get lightheaded and dizzy. I know I am not getting in the required Protein so will step that up to see if it makes a difference. :)

This feeling can also be a sign that your blood pressure is low. So please take some time and check that out for a few days. Many of us are probably on BP meds so this can also be a sign that it may be a time to change that.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
